Powerful networking, academic excellence, strong brotherhood.

What is Rush?

Rush is a process that allows independent students to become acquainted and learn about the various Greek group's on campus. While there are key differences for sororities, fraternity rush starts in the Fall and flows into the Spring.
It is a free-flowing and relatively relaxed process that consists of numerous events held on and around campus, for example, poker nights.

As rush progresses, fraternities aim to build their rush list and slowly begin to focus upon individuals they desire to offer bids, which leads us to the next process

Bids
A bid is an invitation extended by a group to become a part of the respective fraternity or sorority. It is not uncommon for an individual to receive bids from multiple groups.
They may accept for one group or decline to accept all prospective bids. This does not necessarily exclude them from ever receiving again from the same group.
Once a bid is extended there is a period of silence held out of respect for those who did not receive a bid, as well as equal opportunity between groups.
Bids are extended to the selected rushes and given a brief summary of the process.
Following this, there is a period of silence and no fraternity active may speak with a potential member of any Greek group.

After accepting their bid all potential members will meet with the fraternity actives and attend a chapel held at which all new greeks are presented to administration, Greek life and will sign their bids. Those accepting a bid are then considered a representation of their respective group.

Greek Unity Week

Upon the completion of Greek Chapel, fraternity initiation (Greek Unity Week) begins. Upon completion of initiation rituals, new members are recognized by
their respective group.

Requirements
In order to join a Greek group, the school requires students to be:

-At the school exceeding one full semester as a full-time student

-Maintaining a QPA over 2.0

-Understanding the parameters and limitations of pledge in regards to school rules.

What it Takes to be a Pan

We seek individuals with an inherent desire to push themselves beyond their limits. It's expected that each member present themselves with dignity and remain personally accountable to the ways they reflect the image of Pan Sophic. Academic accountability, initiative, and cooperation are key attributes to succeeding within the fraternity.

Most PANS didn't have any intention to join a fraternity when they came to GCC, but this is more than your typical fraternity. Rushing is a great way to get a feel for what kind of group we are. Feel free to hang out with a few of the guys to learn more about what it's like being a PAN.
